On Saturday, July 19th, I’ll be participating in the Montauk‑to‑Block Island Challenge—an 18‑mile stand‑up paddleboard race across the open ocean from Montauk, NY to Block Island, RI—to raise funds for local East End community initiatives. I won’t be out there alone: a spirited crew of women, men, and students will be pushing their physical and mental limits, united by adventure and a shared passion for giving back.

Adventure, challenge, generosity, and heart are what make the Block Challenge so special. Every paddler commits to raising at least $1,500—and most of us go even further—because every dollar helps fuel the nonprofits doing great work in our backyard.
