On July 23rd, I am taking on the 15th annual Block Island Challenge - a 20 mile open ocean paddle from Montauk Point to Block Island Harbor. I will be one of a small group of paddlers dedicated and determined to keep this incredible organization afloat.
Many of you know that the mission of Paddlers for Humanity is dear to me - we provide vital funds to local school districts and innovative programs and non-profits that are addressing youth mental health and providing early intervention services.
The need for these services has never been greater -- afterschool programs full of quality enrichment activities otherwise inaccessible, sliding-scale early childhood education, opportunities to volunteer abroad, our own P4H scholarship and catastrophic funds as well access to basic mental health professionals and support systems.
Please join me and Paddlers for Humanity as we reboot our signature event and continue our mission of improving mental health outcomes for children and families. This grassroots local organization is 100% volunteer and 100% heart. We have raised 1.96 million dollars to-date. With your help, I can achieve a personal goal this year of raising over $15,000 since I joined in 2016.
