Dear Friends,
Last year I participated in my first Paddle to Block Island - 19 miles of open ocean paddling. It was an intense physical challenge and also one of the most memorable and inspiring days of my life. It is with much gratitude that I ask for your support in this years' challenge.
On July 30th, I will paddle once again from Montauk Point Lighthouse to Block Island with this amazing group of individuals. Paddlers for Humanity is a local non-profit dedciated to bettering children's lives with an emphasis on supporting innovative mental health and development programs for kids and youth including greater early intervention outreach, resiliency, anti-bullying and changing behavior through a focus on the positive. To-date this group has raised $1,200,000 for local children and youth services.
I am participating in this paddle because of my belief that addressing youth mental health is paramount in the betterment of society as a whole - and that supporting and encouraging young minds is the best way to break negative cycles of addiction, homelessness and violence.
